Within India’s first solar park, lies a 25 MW solar plant that reduces approximately 34,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually. Located in the Charanka Village in the state of Gujarat, this project helps reduce the dependency on fossil fuels through solar technology and create affordable, clean energy.

We recently invested in this expansive installation that sits within the larger 5,000 acre solar park. In addition to reducing greenhouse emissions, this project is creating business development and educational opportunities in the region.

The construction of the facility and its infrastructure have created jobs and generally improved the business atmosphere due to improved electricity capabilities. The site also hosts students from the School of Solar Energy within Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, who are researching ways to fix India’s energy crisis at a time of critical importance for the nation.

We think it’s also important to point out that this solar project has received three separate recognitions for outstanding quality management, effective environmental management, and top-quality occupational health and safety.
