March 2025 product release highlights
Goal: Improve customer onboarding and data collection flow to
-
Deliver an intuitive data submission experience
-
Support storage and organization of customer data for new reporting products
✓ Platform navigation redesign: Streamlined and reorganized our Side Navigation Bar to allow our customers to more easily navigate to their destination, reducing frustration and lost time. This is also critical as we grow the offering and need a cleaner structure for future components.
✓ “Locked” page states: Sections that are “Complete” or “Work Paused” are now locked and require a reason to be noted if unlocking. This helps us to create a controlled and documented source of truth in Footprint Data to prepare for further automation and more complete Audit details.
✓ Improve File Review flow: Streamlined our file review process to reduce the number of clicks required to Edit recently uploaded documents.
Goal: Provide more data prep automation to improve the quality of Purchased Goods & Services data, additionally enable detailed in-application reporting on PG&S.
✓ Procurement Data Automation: We’ve expanded the capabilities of our internal tools for analysis of procurement data, now with better categorization and cleaning capabilities as well as a deeper integration with our application. This enables us to expose more detailed data in our upcoming detailed Purchased Goods and Services reporting – look for this in the next few weeks!
February 2025 product release highlights
Goal: Enable better understanding of progress of Data Collection
✓ A key element of Data Collection is sourcing data for each location that will feed into the broader footprint for the organization. Our update allows users to track completion of Data Collection tasks on a per-Location basis. This makes it much easier to work with local location managers to ensure timely collection of data.
✓ Task Completion and new Admin Quality Assurance statuses now drive helpful cards at the top of the Dashboard indicating progress of current Data Collections. This makes it easier for users to determine logical next steps in the process.
Goal: Improve user experience
✓ Colors were updated throughout the application to reflect new brand colors, changing the primary UI color from orange to green. This change complements our recent navigation changes.
Goal: Improved data protections after completion of Data Collection
✓ In a step toward a controlled, in-platform source of truth for annual footprints, Data Collections in “Complete” or “Work Paused” QA statuses now transition to a view-only state in which a user must provide reasoning to resume work or make changes to the data.
Goal: Continued maintenance and improvements
✓ As always, we continue to improve and expand our footprint methodology tools and user interface for our Carbon Accountants increasing our flexibility, reliability, and reducing time to footprint completion. This includes updates to our unit conversions tools, allowing more complex conversions between non-standard units – increasing our ability to leverage more industry databases and tackle more complex footprints.
✓ Our vendor ingestion tool now calculates emissions from business loans, corporate bonds, and equity investments using PCAF’s DQ2, DQ4, and DQ5 methodologies. These calculations leverage supplier-specific emissions and industry financial data. This enhancement democratizes access to investment emissions calculations and increases our capacity to handle more of these type of footprint calculations.
January 2025 product release highlights
Goal: Improve Location Management experience when managing many locations
✓ Expanded our Location Management capabilities; users can now bulk import new locations and update existing ones via CSV imports as well.
Goal: Enable internal and external communication system
✓ Activity log and comments features were added to Data Collection, streamlining internal communication (between admin users) and external communication (between clients and admins). Integrating these tools directly into the existing data collection workflow eliminates the need for separate communication channels, keeping all project-related discussions centralized and contextual.
Goal: Expand Carbon Accounting infrastructure
✓ Achieved full automation of fugitive emissions calculations, completing a critical component of our carbon accounting system that strengthens data accuracy, reduces operational overhead, and ensures regulatory compliance readiness.
✓ Rolled out advanced calculation adjustment capabilities across the complete footprint automation platform, delivering sophisticated parameter customization that scales to meet diverse operational and regulatory reporting requirements. Users can now add, subtract, and account for missing months to supplement customer-provided data, ensuring complete and accurate carbon accounting even with incomplete datasets.
