In addition to mitigating 1,189 metric tons of carbon since July 2021, Siebert Williams has made a donation to Trees New York, which is dedicated to planting and preserving New York City’s urban forest. In partnership with Trees New York, Seibert Williams will help plant trees in low-income communities where average temperatures can vary by 10 degrees due to minimal tree coverage. Neighborhoods with low canopy cover and inequitable distribution of shade can lead to lower quality of life and can put the people living there at a higher risk for health issues.
“We are committed to doing our part to take care of our shared environment,” said DiAnne Calabrisotto, Chief Operating Officer at Siebert Williams. “As a women-and-minority owned business, it is especially important to us that we include a specific emphasis on local and underserved communities as a key component of our firmwide sustainability plan.”
