Meet the team

Alex Lassiter / CEO
As a serial entrepreneur, Alex recognizes how difficult it can be for companies to implement sustainable principles and practices. He founded GreenPlaces to eliminate barriers and allow businesses to take climate action in a meaningful way. Prior to Green Places, Alex co-founded Gather, a leading software company that served the hospitality industry that was acquired by Vista Equity Partners. Alex was a Morehead-Cain Scholar at the University of North Carolina. He’s an active venture investor, lecturer and advisor to software companies. Alex lives in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Jesse Lipson / Board Member & Investor
As the founder of ShareFile and now Levitate, Jesse has spent decades working with small businesses all over the world. He is passionate about making an impact on the environment, and his community. He, his wife Brooks and dog Cecil live in Raleigh NC

Jeremy Globerson / VP of Sales
As the Vice President of Sales, Jeremy is instrumental in the growth of GreenPlaces. Before joining the team, Jeremy climbed the ranks in several other sales organizations, most recently serving as the Regional Vice President at Yext, a publicly traded software company specializing in building businesses Knowledge Graph & AI search. Jeremy recognizes the opportunity GreenPlaces has to make a significant impact on the environment and joined the team to be a part of this endeavor.

Andrew Simpson / Sales Director
Andrew has three young boys and is passionate about making the world a better place for them through the work done at GreenPlaces. As a Sales Director at GreenPlaces, Andrew creates lasting partnerships and helps make sustainability possible for companies of all sizes. Andrew has extensive sales leadership experience, including international, in software and CPG with a passion for start-up culture and mission driven work.

Alyssa Walker / Sustainability Manager
Alyssa is a key member of the GreenPlaces team who is responsible for calculating carbon assessments and creating carbon reports for our clients. She is also instrumental in the company’s sustainability strategy and evaluating green investments. Before starting her role at GreenPlaces, she worked in environmental conservation and recruiting. An environmental studies graduate from UC Boulder, Alyssa is determined to eliminate doom and gloom from climate change conversation and educate others on sustainable solutions that are essential for environmental progress.

Camden Conekin / Director of Product
As Director of Product, Camden enjoys using his design and development experience to help GreenPlaces make climate action accessible to everyone. Prior to his work with GreenPlaces, he served as CEO of Padeo, a software company that helped provide faster access to the internet for developing countries using machine learning. Camden is an avid traveler who loves the outdoors and is passionate about conservation, which drove his decision to join the GreenPlaces team.

Ben Hardison / Director of Engineering
Ben is Director of Engineering at GreenPlaces and aids in the strategic direction of GreenPlaces platform, as well as in the design and implementation of new software. Before GreenPlaces, he was a co-founder at Padeo, a software company that he helped start while in college. Ben is proud to be a part of the GreenPlaces team because it’s an opportunity to use his engineering skills in a way that contributes to progress in the sustainability industry.

Lauren Griffin / Account Manager
In her role as an account manager, Lauren is responsible for creating strong and long-lasting relationships with GreenPlaces’ clients. As an extrovert with a passion for sustainability, her position gives her the opportunity to talk to people everyday about ways to help fight climate change. Prior to joining GreenPlaces, Lauren worked at Wrangler Jeanswear on the merchandising team and then served time at Charles & Colvard as a key member of the marketing team.

Bridget Hurley / UI Designer
Bridget is a Philadelphia-based designer with a BFA in Graphic and Interactive Design from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture. Prior to their work at GreenPlaces they were freelancing with teams across the country working in advertising, motion, branding, and UX/UI design. They’ve had a drive to focus on design for sustainable companies for years and are excited to have realized that goal at GreenPlaces where they perform digital, user-centric design as part of the product team.

Elise Klimek / Sustainability Analyst
As a sustainability analyst, Elise evaluates carbon footprints for our clients and aids in emission reduction strategies. What excites her most about working at GreenPlaces is she can work to mitigate climate change and help preserve the planet and environment. Elise came to GreenPlaces with experience as both an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist as well as an Environmental Consultant. Out of the office, Elise enjoys spending her time outdoors (especially at the ocean) and with her dog Stormi.

Anne Lassiter / Account Manager
As an account manager, Anne is responsible for supporting clients to ensure they are successful in every step of their climate journey. Anne started her career at a public relations agency before transitioning into merchandise marketing at The Home Depot corporate headquarters. Most recently, she worked in the marketing department for Red Hat, an enterprise software company. Anne’s favorite part about working for GreenPlaces is the opportunity to collaborate with people and companies who are eager to make the world a better place.

Adriel Lubarsky / Account Executive
Adriel loves to talk to people. At GreenPlaces, that means working with companies to find ways we can help them be more sustainable. Before GreenPlaces, that involved selling self driving cars, starting businesses, hosting over 100 podcast episodes, and performing stand up with a 67% joke-to-laughter conversion ratio. Adriel lives in NYC, serves on the board of environmental non profit Unique Places, and is negotiating with his wife to let him get a dog.

Barry Greene / Director of Customer Experience
As the head of Customer Experience at GreenPlaces, Barry is focused on ensuring that onboarding and adoption of the GreenPlaces platform is as streamlined as possible as well as delivering valuable customer communications. With a background supporting Enterprise fortune 50 customers for Cvent and Samsara, to single location independent small businesses for start-up’s like Scoutmob and Gather, Barry is focused on building long term mutual-success relationships. The opportunity to be a part of helping to build a sustainable future for the business community and our planet as a whole is what drove Barry to join the GreenPlaces team in 2022. Barry hails from the U.K but has made his home in Atlanta Georgia for the last 19 years.

John Chidsey / Chief Executive Officer, Subway
John Chidsey joined Subway in November 2019 as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He is currently leading the brand through a multi-year transformation journey to build a Better Subway, with a focus on transitioning from a development-focused to an experience-focused company. Prior to joining Subway, he was the Chairman and CEO of Burger King.
Before joining Burger King in March 2004, John served as Chairman and CEO for two corporate divisions of Cendant Corporation. He led the Vehicle Services Division and Financial Services Division, which included Avis, Budget, PHH Mortgage, Wright Express, among other various membership and insurance companies. Previously, John was the CFO of Pepsi-Cola Eastern Europe and the CFO of PepsiCo World Trading Co. Inc.
John received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College and his MBA and JD degrees from Emory University. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the State Bar of Georgia. John currently serves on the Board of Directors for Encompass Health.

Jenna Evans / Global Sustainability Manager, Ben & Jerry’s
As Ben & Jerry’s Global Sustainability Manager, Jenna Evans is responsible for climate strategy and sustainable packaging. She is currently leading a pilot program designed to cut dairy farm GHG emissions in half by 2024. Just after joining Ben & Jerry’s in 2018, she managed the company’s efforts to eliminate single-use petroleum-based plastic in Scoop Shops worldwide. These and other sustainability initiatives give Jenna opportunities to live her values and use the power of business to make the world a better place. She received her Masters in Environmental Management from Yale University and has deep experience in sourcing and manufacturing for the food industry. She and her husband live in Essex, Vermont, with their three children.

Sandra Noonan / Chief Sustainability Officer, Just Salad
Sandra Noonan, called “The Sustainability Savant” by QSR Magazine, is Chief Sustainability Officer at Just Salad, a fast-casual restaurant concept with a mission to make everyday health and sustainability possible. She is a frequent speaker on zero-waste, circularity, and carbon literacy. At Just Salad, she implemented a groundbreaking eco-labeling program that made Just Salad the first U.S. restaurant to carbon label its menu. She also expanded the company’s reusable bowl initiative, which is the longest-running restaurant reusable bowl program in the U.S. Sandra was named one of the Most Influential Women in Foodservice, and a Power List executive, by Nation’s Restaurant News, as well as one of 17 “Sustainability Stars” by Adweek. She holds degrees from Duke University and Columbia University.

Missy Schaaphok / Director of Global Nutrition & Sustainability, Taco Bell
Missy Schaaphok is Taco Bell’s Director of Global Nutrition & Sustainability. She is a 15+ year seasoned professional within the food industry and champions options that provide unexpected good, one taco at a time. Missy has always had a passion for food and nutrition and its impact on the environment, and sits at the intersection of those worlds in her role leading nutrition and sustainability efforts at Taco Bell. She plays a big role in how Taco Bell creates food that is fun, innovative and craveable; food you want to eat again; and food that fits customers’ evolving lifestyles. Missy led the development of the Power Menu, a menu featuring high-protein bowls and burritos under 500 calories, designed to fill you up without weighing you down. She also brought customers a vegetarian menu certified by the American Vegetarian Association – the first of its kind in the QSR industry. Over the years, she has served as the driving force behind Taco Bell’s commitment to simplify ingredients, reduce sodium across the menu and all animal welfare and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives. Most recently, she led the global efforts to leave a lighter footprint, announcing Taco Bell’s Global Packaging and Recycling commitment. Because of her hard work, she was named an American Food Hero by EatingWell Magazine in 2020. Her favorite menu hack is ordering the Bean Burrito online, removing onions, adding tomatoes, selecting ‘get it grilled’ and smothering it in Diablo Sauce.
