Every framework, one team: introducing the new Greenplaces

By Alex Lassiter · May 18, 2026

Our new website is live, reflecting how much our customers' work has changed.

What's changing

New site, updated offerings

When we started Greenplaces in 2021, the question we heard was always the same: a customer is asking for our carbon footprint, and we have no idea where to start.

So that's what we built. A way for a growing company to measure its footprint, cut it, and produce the reporting that proved it, without having to hire a sustainability team to get there.

Five years later, that question hasn't gone away. It's been joined by a dozen others.

What our customers told us

Nearly every conversation we've had this year followed the same arc. A customer we'd built a carbon footprint for would ask, almost in passing, whether we could help with the SOC 2 report a buyer just requested. Or the EcoVadis submission. Or the supplier code of conduct attestation. Or the AI governance policy that appeared on a procurement checklist for the first time.

Each request came from a different buyer, in a different portal, on a different deadline. Every one of them sat in front of a deal.

And the teams handling it were doing extraordinary work with the resources they had. That's the part worth saying plainly: this isn't a story about companies falling behind. It's a story about the task growing faster than anyone budgeted for. The sentence we put at the top of the new site is the one we hear on almost every first call:

"Your customers keep adding requirements. Your team hasn't grown."

We kept saying no to those requests, or pointing people to someone else. Eventually enough customers asked the same question that the answer became obvious.

What we're launching

Greenplaces now covers the full compliance picture across three pillars, delivered by one team, on one platform:

Sustainability. Carbon footprints, GHG inventories, SBTi targets, EcoVadis and CDP submissions, and California SB 253/261 readiness, CSR reporting. This is where we started, it's the deepest bench we have, and it keeps growing.

Trust. SOC 2 readiness and attestation support, information security controls, privacy, and the security questionnaires that arrive in the middle of a deal. More than 70% of B2B enterprise buyers now require SOC 2 before they'll sign, which makes this a revenue question long before it's a compliance one.

AI Governance. AI policy, model inventory, and readiness for the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and ISO 42001. This requirement didn't exist when we started. It's now on procurement checklists across every industry we serve.

Underneath all three: senior experts who do the work, and a platform that keeps the evidence organized so the second request takes a fraction of the effort of the first.

The experts behind the platform

Our sustainability team is already one of the most credentialed groups in the industry. Trust is led by credentialed experts from places like KPMG. This isn't a platform with a support line behind it. It's practitioners who've done this work at the highest level, now doing it for you.

Why one team, and not one more tool

The reason we expanded the team rather than shipping another product is that this work overlaps in ways software alone can't reconcile.

The same policy document supports three different frameworks. The same evidence request arrives in four portals in four formats. A single buyer mandate, like a General Motors or AstraZeneca supplier requirement, can pull on sustainability data, safety data, and security data at the same time.

When one team holds the whole picture, you answer the question once and reuse the answer everywhere it applies. That's the difference we're building for, and it's the reason we describe what we do as audit-ready proof for everything your customers, investors, and regulators ask of you. Not a dashboard. Proof, and the people who assemble it.

If you're already a Greenplaces' customer

Nothing about your engagement changes. Same team, same scope, same rate. Your sustainability work continues exactly as it is, with the same people you've been working with.

What changes is what's available when you need it. The next time a buyer sends you a security questionnaire or asks about your AI policy, that's a conversation you can have with us instead of starting a vendor search. Ask your account team what's in scope. It's often more than you'd expect, because the evidence we've already collected does a lot of the work.

Much of what we're launching exists because customers asked for it directly. Thank you for that.

What isn't changing

Sustainability remains the largest part of what we do and our sustainability team remains the most credentialed group here. We're still a certified B Corp, which means the standards we help clients meet are ones we're audited against ourselves. We're SOC 2 Type II certified and score highly on EcoVadis, because a company selling compliance ought to be able to show its own.

What's changed is the boundary. We used to be the answer to "who handles our sustainability reporting?" We're now the answer to "who handles the compliance reporting our customers require of us?"

Take a look!

The new site is live at greenplaces.com. You'll find the three pillars, how an engagement actually works, and industry-specific views for law firms, financial services, professional services, manufacturing, healthcare, software and technology, and the built environment.

And if the requirements are arriving faster than your team is growing, book a strategy call. We'll start by telling you what actually applies to you. Usually less than you'd fear, and more specific than you'd expect.
