Target supplier requirements

Target's supplier sustainability guidelines require establishment of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) to monitor and manage impacts on air emissions, energy, water, and waste. Suppliers must conduct annual environmental assessments, minimize wastewater pollutants, prevent illegal discharge, and develop reduction targets for waste and emissions. Suppliers are also expected to improve energy and water efficiency, track usage, and implement conservation measures. Target mandates that suppliers use certified waste handlers for hazardous materials and publicly disclose data on energy, water, and emissions progress.
