SPC Advance 2026
Greenplaces attended SPC Advance 2026 in San Diego, the Sustainable Packaging Coalition's fall gathering on packaging and EPR.
About this event
SPC Advance is the Sustainable Packaging Coalition's annual fall event, organized by GreenBlue and open to SPC member companies. Since 2014 it has brought together sustainability, packaging, and compliance professionals from across the value chain — brands, converters, material suppliers, recyclers, and the analysts and regulators shaping the rules — to work through the regulatory, market, and recovery realities reshaping packaging. The 2026 edition ran September 28–29 at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego, with programming centered on EPR implementation across the states, California's SB 54 and source-reduction requirements, eco-modulated fees, and the moving targets for recyclability and end-market economics. The co-located How2Recycle Summit followed on September 30.
It's built for the people who have to turn packaging regulation into producer reports, design decisions, and defensible data — and it's where much of the packaging industry aligns on what's actually coming next.
Why we went
We weren't speaking or exhibiting. Our team went to listen, connect with customers and prospects across the packaging value chain, and bring back a clearer read on where packaging compliance is headed in 2027.
